What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing that’s over 2500 years old. Traditional Chinese Medicine views the body as a network of 12 meridians that start in the fingers and toes and each end in a vital organ. There are over 400 acupuncture points that influence both the energy or qi flow in the channel and the organ function itself.
Acupuncture needles create micro injuries that activate the immune system and promote blood flow (circulation) to the needling site. It also stimulates the central nervous system to release chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain.
